PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent liquid crystal and alignment layers from being applied with DC components for a long period of time after power-off. SOLUTION: Pixels arranged in correspondence with crossings between a plurality of scanning lines and data lines have TFTs and pixel electrodes 118. The pixel electrodes 118 among these are faced with common electrodes 108 through the liquid crystal 105. Mounting terminals 107 are connected to conductive electrodes 109 by wiring, and the common electrodes 108 are connected to the conductive electrodes 109 through conductive materials 103. The voltages of the common electrodes 108 are kept constant during a power-on period by application of voltages to the mounting terminals 107. Resistances are arranged between the conductive electrodes 109 and grounding conductors so as to quickly leak charges accumulated in a liquid crystal layer after power-off.
