Disclosed are a novel compound functioning as an LXR antagonist and a pharmaceutical product containing the compound. Specifically disclosed is a tricyclic compound represented by general formula (1), a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, or a hydrate of the compound or the salt. [In the formula, R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower halogenated alkyl group, an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted benzyl group; R2 represents a 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-hydroxypropan-2-yl group or a carboxymethyl group; R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group or a halogen atom; X represents a direct bond, an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, a (CH2)n group or a (CH=CH)n group (wherein n represents an integer of 1-3); and Y represents CO or SO2.]
