PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a high quality image in an electrooptical device in which demultiplexer system is employed. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device includes: N lines of image signal lines 300 in which N systems of serial-to-parallel converted image signals (VID 1 to VID 248) are supplied respectively, and in which a precharge signal (PCS) is supplied prior to the image signal; and a selection circuit 7 which includes a plurality of switches (71) corresponding to a plurality of data lines (6a), selects one data line for each data line group, for each unit period which is defined by the pulse width Ws of selection signals (Sel 1 to Sel 8), and supplies it to the data line whi has selected the image signal, and which supplies the precharge signal to the plurality of data lines in a precharge period which is defined by a pulse width (Wp) of a precharge period definition signal (NRG), and the pulse width of the selection signal is wider than that of the precharge period definition signal.
