Device and process for sorting objects

The device has two loading units (B1,B2) and two unloading units (E1,E2). The device is switched between an intake-optimized mode and an output-optimized mode. Both loading units and the former unloading unit are activated in intake-optimized mode. The device is formed so that an input-handling unit is bypassed at the both loading units and an output-handling unit is bypassed at the active unloading unit. The former loading unit and both unloading units are activated in the output-optimized mode. An independent claim is included for a method for sorting articles.
