<p>In a pair of floorboards (1,1') having a core (30) and opposite edges (4a,4b), whereby the floorboards in the joined position have their edges joined at a vertical joint plane (F), said floorboards comprising, for vertical joining, mechanical cooperating means (36,38) and, for horizontal joining, mechanical cooperating means comprising a locking groove (14) formed in a floorboard underside (3) and extending parallel with and at a distance from said plane (F) and having a downward directed opening, and a strip (6) integrally formed with the core of the other floorboard (1), projecting from said plane (F) and, at a distance therefrom, carrying a locking element (8) projecting upwardly and having a locking surface (10) for coaction with said locking groove (14), which has a greater width than said locking element (8), the locking of said floorboards can be carried out both by vertical snap action and by inward angling during bending of the strip.
