PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for the balance correction of a rotator. SOLUTION: A balance correction apparatus is equipped with: a pulse laser irradiation device 7 for removing part of a section to be removed 11a of a rotator 11 by irradiating the section to be removed 11a with a pulse laser beam; an angle sensor 5b for detecting the rotational angle of the rotator 11 from a reference position; and a control unit 9 for controlling the laser irradiation timing of the pulse laser irradiation device on the basis of a detected rotational angle. The position of the rotational direction of the section to be removed 11a from which mass is to be removed for correcting the balance of the rotator 11 is the position of correction. The control unit 9 controls the pulse laser irradiation device 7 so as to irradiate a laser irradiation position with a pulse laser beam when the position of correction rotating with the rotator 11 matches the laser irradiation position.
