PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder efficiently supplying power between relatively moving members. SOLUTION: The encoder includes: a moving body (1) including a pattern unit (5) and moving in a prescribed direction; an emission unit (3) irradiating the pattern unit with light (L); a photo detection unit (11) detecting light via the pattern unit; a coil unit (6) provided in the moving body and connected to the emission unit electrically; and a magnet unit (7) provided in an encoder body (10) or a measurement target (M) and generating magnetic flux penetrating the coil unit.
