PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the bending displacement of a flexible lead involved in relative movement of both casings without providing a large space in the device body in a portable electronic device in which a pair of casings is connected relatively movably between a fully closed state and a fully opened state, wherein an electronic component incorporated in one casing and an electronic component incorporated in the other casing are connected with each other by using the flexible lead. SOLUTION: The portable electronic device includes a connection arm 31 for connecting the first casing 1 and the second casing 2 relatively movably between a fully closed state and a fully opened state, wherein the flexible lead 7 has a band-shaped lead part 7b that extends inside the connection arm 31, and in the connection arm 31, a lead housing part 38 for allowing the bending displacement of the lead part 7b involved in the opening/closing of the both casings is formed.
