PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method, an inspection device and an inspection program for an image forming state capable of improving the inspection accuracy of the image forming state of an image to be inspected formed on an object. SOLUTION: A printing state inspection method includes: an imaging step for imaging a numerical character printed on a beverage container; a first calculation step for calculating a first matching degree of an imaged pattern to a template by matching the imaged pattern of the numerical character to the template; a first determination step for determining whether the calculated first matching degree is not lower than a first threshold or not; a second calculation step for calculating the second matching degrees of the imaged pattern to the divided templates when the first matching degree is not lower than the first threshold by matching the corresponding parts of the imaged pattern to the divided templates obtained by dividing the template into 2 parts of an upper part and a lower part; and a second determination step for determining whether each of the calculated second matching degree is not lower than a second threshold or not.
