PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of effectively utilizing the margin area of a copy paper. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 110 includes: a margin area determination section 117 for specifying the margin area of original image data to be printed; an image synthesis processing section 119 for synthesizing advertisement image data in the margin area; and a charged fee calculation section 120 for calculating a fee for printing the original image data, in which the advertisement image data are synthesized, by subtracting a discount amount corresponding to the proportion of an advertisement in the original image data from a fee when printing the original image data.
