The invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in the production of hand-held rotary tools, in particular angle grinders. The grinding tool comprises a body, a spindle which is secured rotatably therein and has a working disc, a protective casing and a self-balancing device for automatically compensating for an unbalance of the working disc during the rotation thereof in working cycles. The above-mentioned device is in the form of a closed annular chamber which is arranged concentrically relative to the axis of rotation of the spindle and has an internal annular cavity of rectangular cross section, in which a set of small-diameter steel balls is arranged. The balls are arranged in the annular cavity so as to be able to move freely along the external wall of the annular cavity in two or more rows. The dimensions of the annular cavity, and also the quantity and diameter of the balls, are selected such that when the balls are densely arranged in one layer in the annular cavity they take up not more than half the surface area of the external wall of said cavity.
