<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IEEE1394 communication apparatus, an IEEE communication system, and a power control method which are capable of reducing heating generation in an apparatus by transiting/returning to a power saving mode at an arbitrary timing according to an operation state even if an active apparatus is connected. <P>SOLUTION: The IEEE1394 communication apparatus includes a CPU 11, a LINK chip 1, a PHY chip 12, and a clock generator 2 for supplying clock to the LINK chip 1. The LINK chip 1 includes an Asynchronous control circuit 8 for controlling Asynchronous transfer, and an Isochronous control circuit 9 for controlling Isochronous transfer.
