<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioning load estimating device and method, accurately evaluating an air conditioning load in a prescribed space when estimating an air conditioning load for each area. <P>SOLUTION: An area load ratio detecting part 1 detects the ratio of the air conditioning load in each of a plurality of areas formed by dividing a prescribed space. A load total amount detecting part 2 detects the air conditioning load of the prescribed space. An area load estimating part 3 estimates the air conditioning load of each of the areas based on the detected results.
