PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor, the electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of outputting an excellent image with reduced a positive ghost image and giving an image showing extremely little degradation in a ghost level even after the photoreceptor is stored in a high temperature and high humidity environment. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a base coat layer and a photosensitive layer formed in this order on a conductive support includes steps of applying a coating liquid that contains an amino resin and an olefin resin having at least one of a carboxylic acid group and a carboxylic acid anhydride group on the conductive support and drying to form the base coat layer.
