PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimedia processing apparatus which can generate a chain sharing a part of resources with another chain without individually designating resources. SOLUTION: The multimedia processing apparatus (1) generates the chain of the resources meeting a media basic function designated by a command in response to the command based on definitions of a plurality of media basic functions where a part of the chain of the resources is used as a shared resource (SDEC_MC) mutually with another chain. The chain sharing a part of resources with another chain can be generated based on the definitions of the media basic functions without designating a resource respectively by a command. The multimedia processing apparatus manages the generated chain of resources by a chain ID while manages a connection destination of the generated chain of resources by a chain attribute, and in response to a different command, performs switching control of a chain attribute of a chain of resources matching a chain ID designated by the command.
