<p>PURPOSE: A solar battery and manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent electrical short circuit and effectively collect electrons and holes in an electrode, thereby increasing the efficiency of the solar battery. CONSTITUTION: An n+ area and a p+ area are placed on one side of a semiconductor substrate and are separated around a trench(180). A first electrode(150) is electrically connected to the n+ area. A second electrode(160) is electrically connected to the p+ area. The trench is located between the n+ area and the p+ area and penetrates the n+ area or the p+ area. A dielectric film is located on one side of the n+ area. The dielectric film is located in areas except for the first and second electrodes and the trench.</p>
