<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat nonaqueous secondary battery with good safety. <P>SOLUTION: The flat nonaqueous secondary battery includes an electrode group in which a plurality of positive electrodes and a plurality of negative electrodes are layered via separators and a non-aqueous electrolyte in a space formed by swaging-sealing of an outer jacket case and a sealing case via an insulation gasket. The positive electrode has an electrode body and a power collection tab which protrudes from the body and has a width smaller than that of the body. The separators having a body covering the body of the positive electrode and an overhang section covering part of the power collection tab of the positive electrode, and having a thermal shrinkage in a direction A, which is higher than the thermal shrinkage in a direction B perpendicular to the direction A, is placed on both surfaces of the positive electrode whose both sides oppose to the negative electrode so that the direction B is generally parallel to a direction of protrusion of the power collection tab of the positive electrode from the body, and the two separators have joints directly welded each other on at least part of a periphery of the body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
