PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a running function in "a surface suction cleaning device" equipped with a rotary negative pressure seal member. SOLUTION: The surface suction cleaning device is equipped with the device body connected to a negative pressure forming means for sucking a fluid, the rotary body mounted on the device body in a freely rotatable manner, a rotary drive source for rotationally driving the rotary body, the negative pressure seal member mounted on the rotary body, and a moving means for moving the device body along the surface of matter. In a case that the surface suction cleaning device is revolved on the spot using the moving means, the negative pressure seal member is rotationally driven in the direction opposite to a direction desired to revolve the surface suction cleaning device.
