PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a motor to be used for rewinding a cord from idling, while rewinding the cord so as to reduce the cord lying on a bed as much as possible, in a time period such as night with a high possibility that a patient is sleeping. SOLUTION: A nurse call system includes a stop operation part 9 which is arranged on the substantially same surface for storing the cord 3 of a case body in an operation unit 2 and is operated to stop the rewinding of the cord 3. When the time that there is less possibility that the operation unit is operated has come, the motor 7 is driven and a cord storage part 8 to be operated by the motor 7 rewinds the cord 3. When the stop operation part 9 is operated in the state, the driving of the motor 7 is stopped and the cord storage part 8 stops rewinding of the cord 3. In this case, the cord 3 is rewound on the side of the operation unit 2, so that the cord 3 is rewound until the case body of the operation unit 2 bumps into an obstacle.
