<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining temperature of a cooking container base heated with an induction heating coil, and an induction heating device. <P>SOLUTION: The induction heating device includes a frequency converter 100 formed so as to generate high-frequency driving voltage UA from intermediate circuit voltage UZK generated on the basis of voltage UN of an AC main power source, resonant circuits 10, 11, and 12 having the induction heating coil 10 and with driving voltage applied, and temperature detection devices 18, 20 formed so as to determine temperature of the cooking container base 24 heated with the induction heating coil. An auxiliary voltage source 23 generates intermediate circuit voltage at a fixed level UK during a predesignated period. The frequency converter generates driving voltage for a predesignated period so as to make the resonant circuit vibrate at real resonant frequency without substantially damping.
