PURPOSE:To increase moldability of positive electrode and improve battery performance by using expansion graphite whose surface is covered with a thin layer of metal or metal oxide as conductive material of positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:Expansion graphite whose surface is covered with a thin layer of metal or metal oxide is used as conductive material of a positive electrode 3 using oxide, sulfide, or halid of metal as active material. By cohesive force of fine powder of metal or metal oxide in the thin layer formed on the surface of expansion graphite is increased, moldability is improved compared with nontreatment expansion graphite. Since the amount of binder can be reduced, the amount of active material and electrolyte is increased. Therefore, battery performance is improved. |
