Preparing a diagnostic agent comprises high-resolution imaging of amplified genomic regions in an isolated tumor sample using fine-tiling array, optionally after previous whole genome analysis, preferably a comparative genomic hybridization analysis, duplicating (preferably by PCR) and subsequently sequencing the fusion region of fused, amplified genomic regions within the amplicon with the amplicon-fusion regions and providing a probe, which allows to detect specific fusion region or specific amplified region. An independent claim is included for a sample (or diagnostic agent) obtained by the above process.
