PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which it can be determined which plug is connected while reducing and removing pop-noise, when a headphone plug or a line output plug is connected, and to provide a plug determination circuit. SOLUTION: The method is used to determine plug kind according to the level of load resistance of a plug connected with a jack terminal. The method includes a first-direction current supply step to supply first-direction current to a load resistance, a step to compare voltage generating in the load resistance with a specified reference voltage and determine the plug kind, and a second-direction current supply step to supply second-direction current different from the first direction to the load resistance.
