METHOD AND APPARATUS OF ALLOCATING RANGING CHANNEL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus of allocating a ranging channel in a wireless communication system are provided to allocate various kinds of ranging channels while minimizing the overheads of the ranging channels. CONSTITUTION: At least one ranging channel of a first structure and the second ranging channel of a second structure are allocated to a ranging subframe. The numbers of OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols having first and second structures are different from each other. A guide time including at least one OFDM symbols between at least one ranging channel and the second ranging channel is allocated.
