FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: in addition, furnace contains the wall installed above the melt and made from metal and alloy similar to that molten in the furnace, and mechanism of its movement, which controls the distance between the melt and wall in order to provide the formation of liquid metal layer on the wall surface without its being overheated, at which liquid metal will start flowing from the wall to the melt. ^ EFFECT: invention allows cardinal decrease of radiant heat losses from the melt surface owing to the installation of the wall above the bath surface; at that, physical properties of the wall change their characteristics when the melt appears, thus creating the conditions of equilibrium radiant heat exchange between the wall and the melt surface. ^ 1 dwg |
