PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher whose load control means (triac) is prevented from increasing in temperature even when its doors are suddenly opened during its operation. SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes a dishwasher body 1 which has an opening 2, an upper door 4 and a lower door 5 which are arranged over the opening 2, the load control means 11 composed of the triac which drives the load of a washing pump 20 using an induction motor, a start switch 16 which starts and temporarily stops the operation of the dishwasher, a door opening/closing detection means 27 which detects opening/closing of the upper door 4 and the lower door 5, and a controller 12 which controls the load control means 11 for driving the washing pump 20 so that it may be turned on for one or several waves at a conduction angle between 11-68°and may be turned off at a conduction angle of 180°when a temporary stop is input from the start switch 16 or the door opening/closing detection means 27 detects the opening of the doors.
