PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of preventing leakage of electrolyte liquid at degassing, in a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: In the secondary battery has a power generating element containing an electrolyte housed in an internal space formed by sealing by a sealing portion 14, a passage 201 which faces the external space from the internal space is installed in the sealing portion 14, and a storing portion which communicates with the passage 201 and hangs down toward the power generation element side is provided at a part of the side face of the passage 201; a passage port on the internal space side of the passage 201 is open toward the power generation element; and the passage port on the external space side of the passage 201 is sealed by the sealing portion 14.
