PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording controller that prevents content from being recorded on an unintended optical disk, and also records the content in a shorter time. SOLUTION: In the hybrid optical drive 100, a microcomputer section 111 creates a virtual disk area on a large-capacity storage medium section 120 by a specific file system. When the optical disk is loaded onto an optical disk drive section 130, it is determined whether the file system of the virtual disk area and the file system of the optical disk are coincident or not.
