<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner shortening a detection time and minimizing degradation of obstacle detecting performance by an ultrasonic sensor by limiting the detection of the obstacle by the ultrasonic sensor to a prescribed area in every operation of the air conditioner. <P>SOLUTION: An indoor unit of this air conditioner is provided with a human body detecting device for detecting presence or absence of a human, and an obstacle detecting device for detecting presence or absence of an obstacle, and a wind direction changing blade disposed in the indoor unit is controlled based on a detection signal of the human body detecting device and a detection signal of the obstacle detecting device. Further an air-conditioned area is divided into a plurality of areas in the horizontal direction when observed from the indoor unit, and the detection of the obstacle by the obstacle detecting device is performed in one of the plurality of areas in every operation of the air conditioner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
