<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently introduce light into an optical waveguide and to guide the light to a light reception portion even when cells of the light reception portion are reduced in size. <P>SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging device includes a groove H formed on an insulating film I over the light reception portion PD, a first waveguide core portion C1 provided on an inner wall side of the groove H, a second waveguide core portion C2 embedded in the groove H through the first waveguide core portion C1, and a rectangular lens DL made of the same material with the second waveguide core portion C2 and provided in one body.
