摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image control apparatus for encoding image data to reduce a data transfer amount of a memory while suppressing deterioration of image quality. <P>SOLUTION: A format conversion part 10 divides each pixel component of image data 2 of a first format expressing gradation of each pixel component with a plurality of bits into a prescribed bit group, and couples the bit group on the basis of bit depth to be converted into the image data of a second format. An image encoding part 20 encodes the image data converted into a format with a plurality of encoding methods, and selects the encoding method in response to image quality indexes of encoding data to output corresponding encoding data. A memory input control part 30 assigns a memory region storing a plurality of the pixel components composing the image data of the second format in response to a selected encoding method to be collectively stored in each of the plurality of the pixel components.
