PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material of a Cu-Ni-Si copper alloy, which has little anisotropy and excellent bendability while keeping such a high strength as a tensile strength of 700 MPa or more, and also has excellent stress relaxation resistance, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The sheet material of the copper alloy has a composition comprising, by mass%, 0.7 to 4.0% Ni, 0.2 to 1.5% Si and the balance Cu with unavoidable impurities; and has such crystal orientations as to satisfy the expression of Iä200}/I<SB>0</SB>ä200}≥1.0, when Iä200} represents the X-ray diffraction strength of crystal faces ä200} of the sheet face and I<SB>0</SB>ä200} represents the X-ray diffraction strength of crystal faces ä200} of the standard powder of pure copper, and satisfy the expression of Iä200}/Iä422}≥15, when Iä422} represents the X-ray diffraction strength of crystal faces ä422} of the sheet face.
