PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier effectively cleaning air. SOLUTION: The humidifier 1 has a humidification filter 140, an air distributing section 150, an air flow channel 110 for humidification, an ion generating section 130, an air flow channel 120 for an ion, and a control section 170. The air distributing section 150 is composed of first and second air distributing sections. The humidification filter 140 is disposed in the air flow channel 110, and humidifying air is circulated therein. The ion generating section 130 generates H<SP>+</SP>(H<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>m</SB>as positive ions and O<SB>2</SB><SP>-</SP>(H<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>n</SB>(m, n are optional integers) as negative ions. In the air flow channel 120 for ions, air containing ions is circulated. The first air distributing section distributes a wind to the air flow channel 110 for humidification, and the second air distributing section distributes a wind to the air flow channel 120 for ions. The control section 170 controls the air distributing section 150 to regulate an air volume circulated to the air flow channel 110 for humidification by the first air distributing section, and the air volume circulated to the air flow channel 120 for ions by the second air distributing section.
