Thin film transistor substrate has pad electrodes in non-display area of display device for applying signals to thin film transistors (106) in non-display area of the display device; protective film covering the pad electrodes in the non-display area; and slit in the protective film to infiltrate a stripper adjacent to the pad electrode. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating thin film transistor substrate comprising forming pad electrodes in non-display area of display device, forming insulating film (144) covering the pad electrodes, forming slit in the insulating film using photoresist pattern, and removing the photoresist pattern.
