PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a microscope device having an image acquisition device gets larger in size. SOLUTION: The image acquisition device 10 includes: a specimen placing member 20 on which a specimen 13 is placed; a light source device 22 which irradiates the specimen 13 with illuminating light; an imaging apparatus 30 which is arranged near an illuminating light emitting side of the light source device and picks up the image of the specimen; a pressing device 34 which presses the imaging apparatus against the specimen placed on the specimen placing member; an image processor 42 which processes a signal from the imaging apparatus to form the image of the specimen; and a controller 40 which controls the light source device, the imaging apparatus and the image processor.
