The rotor (10) has a set of blades (14) integrally fastened to a rotor base body (12) by friction welding or inductive high frequency pressure welding. A separate shrouding band (16) covers an outer edge (22) of the rotor base body and forms an internal flow channel. A retaining element (24) fastens the shrouding band to the rotor base body. A welding seam is arranged in an area between the rotor base body and the shrouding band. The blades are manufactured by die forging and milling at a flow through surface. The shrouding band is manufactured from fiber-reinforced plastic.
