The installation comprises common ramps (1), and an inversion device ensuring selective feeding to the user by first or second ramp. Acetylene sources (C1, C2, C3) are connected in parallel to the common ramps through respective pipes (11, 12, 13) of which each comprise a body for expanding the acetylene of high pressure towards low pressure and a calibrated opening (2), where the pipes are arranged in series. The calibrated opening is sized to restrict the acetylene flow at a value of 6000 liters per hour for pressure of 1.5 bar. The installation comprises common ramps (1), and an inversion device ensuring selective feeding to the user by first or second ramp. Acetylene sources (C1, C2, C3) are connected in parallel to the common ramps through respective pipes (11, 12, 13) of which each comprise a body for expanding the acetylene of high pressure towards low pressure and a calibrated opening (2), where the pipes are arranged in series. The calibrated opening is sized to restrict the acetylene flow at a value of 6000 liters per hour for pressure of 1.5 bar. Each source is constituted of an acetylene cylinder or bottles at high pressure. The high pressure for storing acetylene in the sources is 15 bar at a temperature of 15[deg] C. The expansion body (D1, D2, D3) has a piloted regulator, where the recorded pressure for expansion is given by a standard pressure source and a gas tap for piloting threshold pressure for the expansion body. An independent claim is included for a process for supplying acetylene to a user.
