PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for evaluating the crimping portions of an electric wire and a terminal, the method determining crimping quality as acceptable or unacceptable by a simple inspection, and easily performing total inspection.SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the crimping portions of the electric wire W and the terminal 10 includes steps of: detecting the elongation of the terminal 10 after crimping to the length L0 of the terminal 10 before crimping by measuring the length L1 of the terminal 10 after crimping; determining the elongation as "acceptable" when it exists within allowance between preliminarily established lower limit and upper limit; determining the elongation as "unacceptable" when it is beyond the allowance. |
