The monofilament material to give the fastener teeth is embedded in the fabric during the weaving stage, in a zig-zag formation, allowing a central cut to be executed to expose prongs. The prongs are passed over hot jets to turn their ends into drops, shortening prong length and giving the meshing profiles. The purpose is to provide firm teeth mounting so that they maintain their relative position throughout the life of the fastener, and which are not damaged by any heat treatment to the garment.
|
