<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the position of an article placed on a shelf part without remarkably increasing cost and without taking labor in design. <P>SOLUTION: An RF-ID medium having an optical switch for switching between an information readable state and an information unreadable state depending on whether it receives light or not is mounted on the article, the light is emitted to the RF-ID medium mounted on the article placed on a shelf member 1 from a plurality of LEDs 21-1 to 21-8 installed on the shelf member 1, and the light emitting operations of the plurality of LEDs 21-1 to 21-8 by a LED switching device 32 are switched over to detect the position of the RF-ID medium, i.e., the position of the article. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
