PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for a complicated operation to attach or detach an optical low pass filter. SOLUTION: An imaging unit 10 includes: an image sensor 101; a low pass filter 102 that is arranged before the image sensor 101 and has a pair of birefringent optical element 102FWD and 102AFT; a motor 103a that relatively rotates the pair of birefringent optical element 102FWD and 102AFT; and a drive means 103 that is composed of a base 103b and transmission unit 103c.
