<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, a base station, a relay node, and a mobile terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The communication system includes the base station, the mobile terminal, and the relay node for relaying communication between the base station and the mobile terminal, wherein the relay node controls communication in accordance with a control range selected among a plurality of kinds of control ranges.
