<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, a system, a method and a program for managing equipment, and a recording medium recording the program for properly managing equipment in response to detecting equipment. <P>SOLUTION: In the device 100 for managing the equipment, one or a plurality of the equipment 200 are connected through a predetermined data transmission line N. The device 100 for managing the equipment includes: a receiving means 21 receiving equipment information containing equipment specific information specifying equipment itself transmitted from the equipment 200; and a decision means 22 referring to equipment collating information 31D containing equipment specific items for collating registered equipment held by the device on the basis of the received equipment information and deciding whether the equipment 200 transmitting the equipment information is the registered equipment.
