PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by suppressing a white spot phenomenon without upsizing an apparatus. SOLUTION: Partition removal parts 39A are formed at both side ends of a partition plate 39 for preventing interference of transfer voltage to be applied to a secondary transfer roller 35 in order to transfer a toner image carried on an intermediate transfer belt 14 to recording paper P, with separation voltage to be applied to respective needle electrodes 55 of a separation electrode 53 in order to prevent the recording paper P that has been subjected to secondary transfer from sticking to the intermediate transfer belt 14; and a part of transfer current is made to flow to the respective needle electrodes 55 from the secondary transfer roller 35. Thus, transfer voltage in the secondary transfer can be decreased, and the occurrence of the white spot phenomenon can be suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
