PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biosensor which can enhance detection sensitivity. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide type biosensor 10 includes: a substrate 1; a clad 2; a core 3; and an opening 4. The clad 2 is formed on the substrate 1. The core 3 includes a Mach-Zehnder type core and is formed within the clad 2. Then, a partial region 321 of the core 3 includes an antibody. The opening 4 is provided in the clad 2 while abutting on the partial region 321 doped with the antibody in the core 3. Thus, the partial region 321 is exposed to the outside via the opening 4.
