PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dentifrice composition that gives excellent cleaning feeling accompanied by excellent foaming property and fine foam quality, gives no bitter or unpleasant taste during use, sufficiently refreshes the oral cavity and gives excellent feeling upon use. SOLUTION: The dentifrice composition comprises: (A) silicic anhydride; (B) a betaine amphoteric surfactant; (C) l-menthol; and (D) at least one menthyl ester chosen from menthyl valerate, menthyl isovalerate, menthyl phenyl acetate, menthyl caprylate, menthyl butyrate, menthyl caprate, menthyl caproate and menthyl 2-methylbutyrate, provided that the amount of component (D) compounded is 0.001-0.1 mass%.
