PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure wave supercharger preventing contact of a rotor with a housing even if the rotor extends by heat.SOLUTION: This pressure wave supercharger includes: a housing 11 which has a storage chamber 21 rotatably storing the rotor 12 having a plurality of cells 13, a fixed housing 14 provided with an intake-side wall surface 16a opposed to one end surface 12a of the rotor 12, and a movable housing 15 provided with an exhaust-side wall surface 18a opposed to the other end surface 12b of the rotor 12, the movable housing 15 being relatively movably provided in the direction of a center line CL with respect to the fixed housing 14; and an actuator 28 driving the movable housing 15 in the direction of the center line CL. When it is determined whether or not the dimension of an exhaust-side clearance Ce between the rotor 12 and the exhaust-side wall surface 18a is less than a determining value, and it is determined that the dimension of the exhaust-side clearance Ce is less than the determining value, the actuator 28 is driven so that a distance between the intake-side wall surface 16a and the exhaust-side wall surface 18a is extended. |
