The device has a piston defining an expansion chamber and a compression chamber in a working cylinder. An orifice valve mechanism (20) has annular diaphragm plates (21, 22) that are turned towards the respective compression and expansion chambers such that the mechanism generates additional leakage of fluid passage during compression to assure low speed differentiation function, and permits blow-off of fluid passage during expansion to limit force for high flow. One of the plates serves as an anti-return valve to control access of a leakage hole (23) formed on the other plate.
