<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope which is easy to carry when it is moved. <P>SOLUTION: A microscope for magnifying a sample image by an optical system provided in a body 2 is provided on the back-face when a surface opposed to an observer faces forward during use, and is equipped with a grip 3 located above a center of gravity of the body. A top surface of the grip 3 has a level difference between the top surface and a top surface continuous to the body.
