<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass collecting device and its method capable of suppressing investment by using machinery and materials conventionally used in collecting as much as possible, and capable of being used easily and safely even by a beginner. <P>SOLUTION: This glass collecting device 1 for collecting window glass 4 of the vehicular slide door 3 by crushing is provided with a plate shaped member 11 having a lower side 11a capable of being placed on a belt line 4a of a window of the slide door 3 on a cabin side in the sate of opening the slide door 3 and an upper side 11b abutting with a surface 5a on the outdoor side of a vehicle body 2 covered by the slide door 3, and capable of being obliquely laid between the slide door 3 and the surface 5a on the outdoor side of the vehicle body 2; and a box material 8 arranged on the outdoor side of the slide door 3 and having an opening 8a opened to the window glass 4.
